Seth Lugo and Justin Wilson have been very solid for the New York Mets this season, but Edwin Diaz and Jeurys Familia have been equally terrible in the back end of the bullpen. This needs to change if they want any chance of competing for an NL East title next year, so here are three relievers the Mets need to target in the offseason to solve their bullpen woes.

3. RHP Daniel Hudson

Daniel Hudson is in the midst of an impressive 2019 campaign between Toronto and Washington, posting a 2.65 ERA over 64 appearances. He's been even better in the NL, as he owns a 1.80 ERA with the Nationals. He's proven he can pitch in this division, which is important for this Mets team in 2020.

2. RHP Mychal Givens

Mychal Givens is with the Baltimore Orioles and his 2019 campaign has been terrible. However, from 2015-2017 he was one of the better relievers in the sport, and with Baltimore rebuilding, it would make sense to trade Givens and get something of value. Givens has high upside, which the Mets really need in their pen. A former closer, Givens could settle into a setup or middle relief role in Queens.

1. LHP Will Smith

I know Edwin Diaz was the best reliever in the sport in 2018 and was atrocious this year once he came to New York. Relievers are very volatile, so fans will worry about what Will Smith can do if the team spends big money on him. However, it's worth the risk, as he's turned into one of the best left-handed relievers in the sport over the last couple years.
