3 QBs the Dolphins Are Dumb Enough to Draft Over Tua Tagovailoa

The Miami Dolphins entered 2019 trying to "tank for Tua." But head coach Brian Flores was able to get the most out of his players and the team is now picking fifth in the 2020 NFL Draft. But the Dolphins may have lucked out, because Tua Tagovailoa suffering an injury at the end of the year means the quarterback should be available at No. 5 overall.

Then again, this is the Dolphins we're talking about. The franchise hasn't exactly made sound decisions throughout its history, so let's see who the front office might draft instad of Tua if this advantageous situation manages to get botched.

3. Jake Fromm

Jake Fromm is a tough player to project. He never reached the 3,000-yard mark in any of his three seasons at Georgia and is still only 21 years old. His impressive freshman and sophomore seasons were overshadowed by his apparent regression this past year. Fromm could pan out, but he's not worthy of a No. 5 overall pick.

2. Jordan Love

Jordan Love's stock is rising in 2020 after a 3,400-yard year in 2019. Love stands 6-foot-4 and would be an option with Miami's second or third pick. He does have potential, but taking him later on in the first or second round instead of taking Tua at No. 5 would not be a smart decision. His 17 interceptions this past year are also a major red flag.

1. Jalen Hurts

The Dolphins could wait a few rounds and make Jalen Hurts their new project at quarterback. However, his NFL potential is up in the air and he would indeed be a project instead of an immediate starter. He got beat out by Tua at Alabama and may not be a better starting option over Ryan Fitzpatrick right away. The Dolphins need a surefire talent to come in and take the reigns from day one, so this is a risk they're not going to want to take.
