3 Players the Eagles Are Guaranteed to Lose in Free Agency

Despite having only five wins by the 13th week of the NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles managed to win the NFC East and secure a trip to the playoffs. They salvaged what could have been a disastrous season and ended the year on the better side of .500 with a 9-7 record. Carson Wentz continued to develop in his first full season since his rookie year, but with 20 free agents in 2020, it's clear that his supporting cast is going to look a little different.

Here are three well-known Eagles who won't be back in Philly next season.

3. Timmy Jernigan

After missing a majority of the 2018 season due to a back injury, Jernigan only played 10 games in 2019 after breaking his foot. The 27-year-old was productive in 2017 with 33 tackles, but since then, the Eagles have gotten by without his help. The team has shown what it can do without him, and his contract is done. It seems his time with the Eagles may be done as well.

2. Jason Peters

Jason Peters is a nine-time Pro-Bowler, and no on can deny the huge contributions he's made in his 10 seasons with the Eagles. However, at 38 years old, he only has so much time left. More importantly, in last year's draft, the Eagles traded up three spots in the first round to pick Andre Dillard. There are rumors that the Eagles could trade Dillard, but his presence in the first place was a clear sign that they want a younger replacement. With Peters' contract expiring, it's time to let things end naturally.

1. Nelson Agholor

In his fifth season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Nelson Agholor took a huge step backwards. He only played in 11 games after suffering a knee injury, but in the games he played, he only caught 39 of the 69 passes thrown his way. Carson Wentz is a talented quarterback who needs talented receivers, and Agholor simply isn't cutting it anymore. The Eagles won't be spending money to keep him around.
