3 Impending Free Agents Not Named Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper the Cowboys Need to Re-Sign

The Dallas Cowboys are facing a pivotal offseason following the departure of Jason Garrett. Several key contributors from last year's team could hit the open market, and while Jerry Jones knows he can't keep everyone -- especially with a major contract in the works for Dak Prescott -- he should try to pull off the salary cap gymnastics necessary to keep these three impending free agents.

Kellen Moore's base offense features three wide receivers, so the need for a reliable slot guy, of which Cobb is almost an archetype, is a necessity. With 828 yards and a career high 15.1 yards per catch, Cobb was the clear-cut No. 3 option on the team behind Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. Losing that sort of production would be hard to replace either in the draft or via a cheaper option in free agency.

2. CB Byron Jones

Jones, once nothing more than a combine darling, has emerged as one of the more versatile defensive backs in all of football, as he has seen time at safety and corner over the last few seasons and excelled at both. Jones could end up getting squeezed out of Dallas due to cap ramifications, but their secondary was the weakest part of their defense, and Jones would be making a major error if he didn't at least try to bring Jones back.

In a year where Demarcus Lawrence had a major drop in production after his big contract, Quinn stepped up and filled the void, recording 11.5 sacks after coming to Dallas in a trade from the Miami Dolphins. If the Lawrence decline is real, the Cowboys will need another premium edge rusher in town to make up for it, and Quinn proved he could excel with his hand in the dirt last year, as his speed and power combination proved extremely disruptive.
