3 High-Priced Free Agents the Eagles Should Target if Howie Roseman Decides to Be Aggressive

The Philadelphia Eagles have $40 million in cap space this offseason and general manager Howie Roseman is ready to spend it. But, how aggressive will he be? The problem is the Eagles don't have any cap casualty candidates, so they're pretty much stuck with everyone who's on the roster right now.

Depending on what Roseman decides to do -- sign 1-2 big names or maybe look for a more wholesome approach by adding 3-4 -- these big-name targets should be on his radar because they would immediately improve Philly's situation on either side of the ball.

3. A.J. Green

To be honest, we're not sure how much Green is going to cost in free agency. While he's been among the top wideouts in the game ever since being drafted in 2011, what do you pay a 31-year-old free agent who has played in just nine games over the past two seasons? Who knows, but if the Eagles spend a little extra to convince him to come to Philly, Carson Wentz will have another star target and security blanket in the event the team trades Alshon Jeffery (or he gets injured again).

2. Jadeveon Clowney

Bring it full circle, Philly! The man who knocked Wentz out of the team's playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks can come to the City of Brotherly Love and lead the Eagles' pass rush for years to come. The 26-year-old Clowney is arguably the biggest name on the market this offseason and we know how much the team values production on the defensive line. With Derek Barnett being unable to reach his full potential, this move could be in the cards.

1. Byron Jones

The biggest need for the Eagles resides in the secondary. They desperately need a cornerback after a disastrous campaign in which that unit was badly exposed, and there's no better target than Byron Jones, who has been running the show for the Dallas Cowboys the last few years. Steal a star from a division rival and have him immediately improve one of the weakest parts of the roster? Sounds like a perfect offseason plan. Jones can perhaps help groom some of the other youngsters in the Philly secondary as well, which is something defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz could certainly use.
