3 Free Agents the Steelers Should Still Pursue

The Pittsburgh Steelers might have gotten the biggest offseason facelift of any team in the NFL, as Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell were considered to be too much to handle and could no longer remain on the roster. While they have replaced them in good faith, mostly through the draft, there are several impact veterans lurking in free agency that Pittsburgh could snatch up in order to help a generally young team win now.

3. WR Pierre Garcon

The Steelers certainly have a type at wide receiver, as they value smaller, faster receivers who can separate downfield. While Pierre Garcon isn't a young pup, and his last two season weren't especially productive, he is a reliable target over the middle and down the seam that can still take the top off of a defense. He's the perfect fit to be the fourth wideout in Pittsburgh, and he'd certainly benefit from catching passes from a future Hall of Famer in Ben Roethlisberger.

2. TE Lance Kendricks

Do you trust Vance McDonald, Xavier Grimble, and fifth-round pick Zach Gentry in the Steelers' tight end room? Didn't think so. As the best veteran left on the market, Lance Kendricks has sure hands and a nasty disposition as a blocker, which could make him valuable as a lead blocker and in goal-line sets.

1. CB Brent Grimes

A Pennsylvania native who went to high school in Philadelphia and college in Shippensburg, Brent Grimes was still serviceable as the top corner in Tampa Bay last year, even if he's not quite at his Pro Bowl level. Despite having one of the worst cornerback units in the league, Pittsburgh eschewed the position in the draft. Grimes could step right in and fiorm a nice tandem next to Joe Haden.
