3 Free Agents the Chiefs Could Still Sign

The Kansas City Chiefs are all-in on a championship. They have an MVP in Patrick Mahomes on a rookie contract, an excellent coach in Andy Reid, and one of the best rosters top to bottom in the league. Still, there is always room for improvement. While the Chiefs don't have a ton of cash to spend, they could still sign these three veteran free agents.

3. CB Brent Grimes

The Chiefs starting cornerbacks at this moment in time are Charvarius Ward, Bashaud Breeland and Kendall Fuller. And people wonder why the Patriots ran all over them in the AFC Championship. Grimes isn't the speed demon he once was, but he's a veteran option with enough ability in man and zone to play well in Steve Spagnuolo's defense.

2. RB Jay Ajayi

Still recovering from an ACL injury sustained in Week 5, few teams have been willing to take on the Ajayi reclamation process. However, given the depth Kansas City has at running back and their willingness to take on players of risk, this could be a great fit.

1. DL Muhammad Wilkerson

Wilkerson's stint in Green Bay ended after just three games due to injury. Because of that, fans have forgotten the versatile, powerful, game-wrecking player he was as a Jet. Wilkerson has the ability to rush the passer as a 3 tech or slide inside to spell Derrick Nnadi and Khalen Saunders. He's exactly what a still subpar Kansas City defense needs.
