3 Free Agent WRs 49ers Should Still Target to Fill Emmanuel Sanders' Role

After falling one quarter short of being Super Bowl Champions, the San Fransisco 49ers are looking to improve their team so next year they will hoist the Lombardi Trophy. In order to do that, the 49ers will have to find a wide receiver to fill in for Emmanuel Sanders who is not expected to re-join the squad. These three wideouts would be a plausible option if Sanders walks.

3. Breshad Perriman

Breshad Perriman is coming off the best season of his career in a campaign where he recorded career highs in receptions, yards and touchdowns as part of the Tampa Bay offense. Heading to the West Coast to team up with Jimmy Garappolo could allow Perriman to set new career highs. While Perriman is currently not a No. 1 option, at only 26, he does have upside and can be very productive in a young San Francisco offense.

2. Nelson Agholor

Agholor is coming off a disappointing 2019 season, but that might just mean the 49ers can sign him at a cheaper price tag. Drops have been a real issue for the 26-year-old wide receiver, but if he can fix that he can become a real weapon. In 2018, Agholor recorded 736 yards on 64 receptions, which are not amazing numbers but could be productive in an offense already featuring Deebo Samuel and George Kittle.

1. Robbie Anderson

Anderson has shown flashes of potential in New York. He has put up multiple games where he recorded over 100 yards receiving. On the contrary, he has thrown up a lot of duds as well. After spending four seasons in a dysfunctional Jets offense, a change of scenery could benefit Anderson greatly. Adding the longtime Jet to a championship-caliber 49ers team can give him an opportunity to live up to his maximum potential, and maybe become a key part in a 49ers Super Bowl run.
