3 Brandon Brooks Replacements Eagles Can Sign Right Now

The Philadelphia Eagles suffered what could be a fatal blow to their offensive line, as Pro Bowl guard Brandon Brooks was lost for the entire 2020 season after tearing his Achilles. While the Eagles will need to find a long-term replacement given the nature of Achilles injuries, they will need to act quickly when it comes to finding a short-term stopgap that can start in 2020. All three of these free agents are better options than rookies Prince Tega Wanogho and Jack Driscoll.

3. Josh Kline

Kline was a bit of an unusual cut for the Vikings, as he started 13 games for them at right guard, and the cap savings accrued from releasing him was minimal. Kline isn't going to turn into a Hall of Famer anytime soon, but he is going to provide rock-solid run and pass protection that could minimize the loss of Brooks without requiring the financially handicapped Eagles to break the bank.

2. Mike Person

The 49ers liked Person so much that they gave him a three-year contract extension before the 2019 season. Surprisingly, perhaps motivated by a poor performance against Chris Jones in the Super Bowl, Person was released, and he hasn't found a club since. Person started 30 games over the last two seasons, and he has proved that he can move well in space, which is ideal for a zone blocking team like the Eagles. Bring him in on a one-year deal and watch Miles Sanders prosper.

1. Larry Warford

If the Eagles want to go big game hunting, Warford is the only man for the job. A three-time Pro Bowler who has joined Brooks in Hawaii over the last three years, Warford was released after the Saints used their 2020 first-round pick on Michigan lineman Cesar Ruiz. Warford isn't going to come cheap, and that price tag is assuredly what is causing the hold up as he looks for his newest team. If the Eagles pull this off, however, they should be able to once again claim to have one of the league's best offensive lines.
