With franchise cornerstone Ezekiel Elliott finally signed to a long-term contract after an offseason's worth of back-and-forth squabbling with the Dallas Cowboys, the impassioned fanbase can now take a step off the ledge and begin to genuinely analyze expectations for the 2019 season.

Predict what you will, but what is a Cowboys campaign without a few surprising narratives grabbing headlines? Let's take a look at three bold predictions for Big D in 2019.

3. Dak Prescott Will Post Elite Numbers

Since he took the league by storm in his stellar rookie campaign in 2016, there's been two prevalent opinions/narratives on Dak Prescott: he deserves to be paid like the franchise quarterback he is, or he's the lone component holding the Cowboys world-beating roster from reaching their full potential. Well, we're here to tell you that the two-time Pro-Bowler will prove his large population of doubters wrong in 2019. Having Amari Cooper lining up out wide for a full season will contribute heavily to that.

2. Taco Charlton Proves His Worth

Though injuries have slowed him down, Taco Charlton impressed throughout training camp and his limited snaps in the preseason. With Robert Quinn, the projected starter opposite Pro-Bowler Demarcus Lawrence, suspended the first two games of the season, Charlton will have every opportunity to grab hold of a regular role in Rod Marinelli's defense. Lawrence will demand double teams from virtually every opponent the Cowboys face, providing even more chances for the Michigan product to impress. This will be the year Taco proves he has a future in Big D.

1. Cowboys Win the NFC East

With the Giants and Redskins in the midst of a full-blown rebuild, America's Team will slug it out with the Eagles for the NFC East crown in 2019. There's no doubting Philadelphia has the more complete roster, but the Cowboys' isn't far behind, and they actually beat the Birds in both of their meetings last year. If Jason Garrett's squad can do the same this time around and cure their palpable road woes, Dallas will win the division. Did we mention that Zeke Elliott won't sit out any games?
