The third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs will begin their season Saturday against SEC East division foe Vanderbilt, which is the first time in over two decades they'll begin the season on the road against a conference opponent.

Vanderbilt is not known as a football school, but head coach Derek Mason has the most talent he's ever had since his arrival. It may not look like it on paper, but this could turn out to buck the odds and be a close one.

Here are three bold predictions for Georgia's SEC opener against Vanderbilt.

1. Vanderbilt RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn Will Rush for Over 100 Yards and Score

The Commodore defense will have a tough time against Georgia, but from an offensive standpoint, Vandy might be able to hold their own, especially at the running back position with Ke'Shawn Vaughn. The senior back is coming off a season where he rushed for 1,244 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Bulldogs held him under the century mark last year during an absolute beatdown. However, Vaughn averaged 8.8 yards a carry against Georgia last year, and in the first week of the season, expect more of the same.

2. Georgia QB Jake Fromm Throws for 300 Yards and 3 TDs

Like I said, the Vanderbilt defense won't be able to handle this Georgia offense too well, which is why quarterback Jake Fromm is going to go off and get his Heisman candidacy off on the right foot. I don't see Fromm getting a whole second half off, so look for an impressive 300-plus yard, three-touchdown game from the Georgia quarterback.

3. Bulldogs Pull Away Late

Georgia is favored to win, which isn't a shock, but look for Vanderbilt to give the Bulldogs everything they have...at least in the first half. In the end, Georgia is far too superior to lose this game, so expect a late fourth quarter push that will make the final score look like a blowout, even though it wasn't.
