All Saints fans are looking forward to training camp, and seeing the 2020 team practice for the first time. As always, there are going to be position battles between players to find out who will begin as the season as a starter.

You would think New Orleans doesn't have many battles, as they have many positions that have already been solidified, but they also have a few positions where a player has yet to stand out heading into 2020.

3. Backup Quarterback

We all know that Drew Brees will be starting for the Saints in 2020, but the Saints' future at the position is up for grabs. The Saints did give Taysom Hill a first-round tender, but they also signed former first-overall pick Jameis Winston to compete with Hill. Even though the backup quarterback position may not seem like an interesting position conflict, it has great potential to enamor fans because of the future implications to the Saints roster.

2. 3-Tech Defensive Tackle

After re-signing David Onyemata to a sizable three-year, $27 million contract, the Saints made a statement to former first round pick Sheldon Rankins that his job may be up for grabs. Both of these defensive tackles have been progressing each year, but Rankins has injury issues. The Louisville product will have to establish himself as the starter from the jump, or Onyemata will be there to take the starting job.

1. Linebacker

Behind All-Pro Demario Davis, the Saints have some questions about who can give them quality snaps. To simplify the team's situation, New Orleans has three players for two spots. The team added Wisconsin product Zach Baun to a group with Alex Anzalone and Kiko Alonzo. Anzalone and Alonzo have had injury issues, while Baun is a rookie, so none of these players are 100% established. All three have the potential to start in any defense, they just have to show out. Saints fans will surely have their eyes peeled on this battle, as it is integral to have two solid linebackers behind Davis.
