When literally nothing in the sports world is going right over the last month, the little things don't even hurt you anymore. All you can do is laugh.

DJ Arkansas, a 3-star linebacker recruit from Texas, has announced his college commitment, pledging for the Rice Owls as part of the class of 2021. Arkansas was given offers by Duke, Hawai’i, Boise State, and... Arkansas! No, that's not a typo.

It would have been awesome to hear that Arkansas was headed to Arkansas. Instead, head coahc Sam Pittman and Co. must awkwardly explain why they missed out on a literally perfect target.

In all seriousness. DJ Arkansas shared an inspiring story accompanying his commitment: He was given a 10% chance to continue playing football after suffering a lacerated kidney his freshman year of high school. It shows that his perseverance paid off, and is now playing Division I football at an elite, prestigious academic institution.

Arkansas is an inspiration for all athletes coming back from serious injuries, especially players from high school. You've got to wish him all the best in his college career, but wouldn't have been nice to Arkansas play for his namesake?

Better just let this one go.
