Total Gamer Sean Lee Came to Cowboys on His Own to Take Paycut
By Parker White

Following the 2018 season, there was a chance that Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee was going to call it a career after another injury-riddled campaign. Instead, he decided to re-sign with the Cowboys.
Not only did Lee want to come back and play for a championship, but he took a pay-cut to make it happen. Yet, it wasn't the front office which asked Lee to take less money. Rather, the vet understood his contract was untenable, and took the initiative himself.
Stephen Jones says the Cowboys never asked Sean Lee to take a paycut. Says Sean came to them and said he's missed games and he understands they've got good young players and he wanted to be in Dallas.

Not only has Lee taken less money to return to Dallas, but he has a reduced role on the team, which he's embracing. However, over the last couple of games he's received more snaps, which is why he was a star on Monday Night Football against the Giants, tallying a team-high 12 tackles.

He was targeted 6 times in coverage but only surrendered 4 receiving yards.
Vintage Sean Lee.
There aren't many athletes out there who would go to the front office and ask for less money. Usually, it's the opposite.
Lee just wants to play football and compete for a Super Bowl, and he has a great chance of doing that in Dallas when you look at all the young talent scattered throughout the roster.
