Chip Kelly one and done with Ohio State to join the Raiders

When Chip Kelly first joined Ohio State ahead of the 2024 season, not a lot of people thought it was going to be a long-term marriage between the two sides. That has proven to be the case, as the veteran coach is on his way out of town.
On Sunday night, news broke that Kelly indeed will be leaving Columbus, as he's accepted the offensive coordinator job with the Las Vegas Raiders. According to Albert Breer, Kelly will be making $6 million a year in Sin City. Wow:
The @Raiders told candidates during their search they were making a serious commitment with an infusion of cash from the new owners. Here it is—Chip Kelly was lured to Vegas with a deal averaging $6 million per year, per sources.

Kelly is now the NFL's highest-paid coordinator.
Kelly was able to help the Buckeyes win the National Championship this past season. The Ohio State offense was downright sensational throughout the College Football Playoff with Kelly running the show. While Ryan Day was hoping Kelly would be back in 2025, that's not going to be the case and he now has to find a new OC. Day also lost DC Jim Knowles to Penn State.
