VIDEO: Jim Harbaugh Equates Michigan's Road to Success to Potatoes in Bizarre Metaphor

You really just never know what Jim Harbaugh you're going to get when he steps in front of cameras for press conferences, as he tends to be as unpredictable as any head coach in college football. Well, the Michigan boss was back at it again this week when he delivered (perhaps) the quote of the year whe asked about the Wolverines' improved play after their pedestrian start to the season. He likened the maturation process to... yes, planting potatoes!

It's a funny turn from Harbaugh, but he's quite literally making excuses for his team's slow start out of the gates. Sure, it goes without saying that only a few elite teams are fine-tuned machines in the first half of a college football campaign, but Michigan's letdowns have been consistent across his tenure. This isn't something he can play off like it's nature taking its course.

According to Harbaugh, his squad fell short against the likes of Wisconsin and Penn State because they weren't yet a finished product. How's that going to stand with the demanding legions of fans, alumni, and boosters?

No worries, folks, wins against overrated Notre Dame and Michigan State teams apparently means that the potato salad is ready to be served! Did anyone bring mac and cheese? Is there a sweet potato pie around?

Something tells us that new seeds will need to be planted after the Wolverines' showdown against Ohio State to close out the year. That's just the way the wind seems to be blowing. If and when that happens, it's anyone's guess as to whether the khaki'd one will be kept around long enought to reap the harvest.
