VIDEO: Footage Emerges of Justin Verlander Making Ill-Timed Comment Amid Astros Cheating Scandal

Over the years, has there been anyone who has taken more pride in playing the game the right way than Justin Verlander? He's an old school kind of guy, but has been virtually silent since the Astros' sign-stealing scandal broke. Well, at a BBWAA Dinner on Saturday night, Verlander took the stage, accepted his AL Cy Young Award and made a pretty damning statement.

The veteran righty had the audacity to say the Astros were technologically and analytically advanced this season. Seriously, dude?

While there was some laughter in the room after Verlander tried to be funny, he's getting blasted on social media for what he had to say. The entire MLB community is fuming over what has happened, and Verlander is out here practicing his comedy routine thinking he's at a nightclub in New York?

Yup, Verlander has always been quick to call people out when they've cheated the game, but in this case there's nothing to see here. It's distasteful and a complete slap in the face to baseball followers out there.
