Tony La Russa is making headlines this week, but for all of the wrong reasons. The 76-year-old mananger has shown us just how old school he is, ripping rookie Yermin Mercedes for hitting a homer on a 3-0 count against the Twins.
Seriously? To make matters worse for La Russa, he's come out and said that his slugger is going to pay the consequences for his mistake. On top of that, he basically said he had no issue with Minnesota throwing at him. Come on.
This is the kind of statement that could lose a dugout. La Russa throwing his player under the bus is one thing, but then dropping this quote is another. He needs to get a clue.
