In the days of corporate sponsorship of sports, corporations try to label anything they can make money off of. The names of college bowl games have suffered the most and another one bites the dust, but with a good cause involved.

The Sun Bowl will be renamed to the kid friendly, Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl after Kellogg's became the game's newest sponsor.

With so many new bowl games popping up each year only the classic names remain. The Rose Bowl, Cotton Bowl and Citrus Bowl maintain their original names, unsullied by sponsorship.

Tony the Tiger is the first mascot that will label a college football bowl game. The motive through the name is to help children get involved in sports, which is an unprecedented route.

The mission of the bowl is to raise money and to generate awareness for middle school athletic programs that are cancelled due to budget cuts.

With the Sun Bowl held in El Paso, Texas it creates a great opportunity to help heal a community which was scarred by the tragic events that occurred earlier this year.
