Teams Reportedly 'Wary' About Signing Kyrie Irving

It goes without saying, but many believe the Boston Celtics' rollercoaster 2018-2019 season was the product of Kyrie Irving's failure to grab hold of the locker room.

When you couple that with his impulsive personality and dreadful play in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, it's worth pondering if he deterred potential free agent suitors.

Well, per the Boston Herald's Steve Bulpett, several teams that were previously interested in signing Kyrie "are now a great deal more wary" of bringing the former Duke star aboard.

And they have every right to be. Irving demanded out of Cleveland because he wanted to be the alpha dog on his own team, but he proved time and time again he was miles away from being up to the task.

Going off that, Bulpett added that there are two teams that will ONLY target Irving if they land another marquee free agent.

The six-time All-Star is simply better suited as a Robin than a Batman. Ending up in Los Angeles with LeBron James would provide that opportunity. And so would teaming up with Kevin Durant with New York or Brooklyn.

Whatever the case, Kyrie's experiment with the Celtics seriously hindered his overall allurement and let's be honest, that was the expected outcome after Boston's first losing streak.
