Spencer Dinwiddie Tweets Defiant Message About Knicks Potentially Getting KD and Kyrie

Lately, it seems like the entire state of New York and half of the NBA world has had their eyes and ears facing the Knicks-- and you can't blame them. This offseason will be absolutely huge for them as they inevitably chase top-tier free agents Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

But Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie wants to make it clear to the world that no matter what happens with the Knickerbockers this summer, the Nets will still be the best team in the Five Boroughs.

Well, let's compare.

The Knicks finished the 2018-19 season with a record of 17-65, only winning two games in their division and only 11 in the Eastern Conference. The Nets finished the season with a 42-40 record, going 8-8 in the division and winning 29 games in the Eastern Conference. They even took a trip to the playoffs and stole a game from the 76ers before bowing out in the first round. It's hard to imagine the Nets being able to hold off their rivals on the other side of the East River if that involves stopping KD and Kyrie, but Diwnwiddie is projecting confidence all the same.

The Nets owned New York this season. But if the Knicks are able to secure even one of the truly elite free agent targets on the market this summer -- to say nothing of what they do with the No. 4 overall draft pick -- they'll have every chance of taking back NYC supremacy.
