Ohio State has a rabid fan base, and Buckeye Nation is calling for action.

Current President of the University Michael Drake will retire next year, and fans are pleading for one replacement in particular: Jim Tressel.

Tressel is the current president of Youngstown State, and has managed to be highly successful while at the helm. He mainly serves in a fundraising role there, and is one of only a select few University Presidents in the country who does not have a doctorate.

Tressel, of course, coached at Ohio State from 2001-2010, which included seven Big 10 championships and a National Title in 2002, with two more National Title appearances in 2007 and 2008. He resigned from his position as head coach after a scandal involving players selling memorabilia. The Buckeyes 2010 Sugar Bowl victory was vacated, as well as the 12 wins from the season.

Despite the circumstances of his removal, Buckeyes fans remember him fondly. Many fans also believe he would do wonders for University fundraising.

Drake has been the President of Ohio State since 2014. He is the first African-American president of the University.

While Tressel replacing Drake is only an idea at this juncture, with the help of Buckeye fans, it is quickly gaining steam.
