Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen had himself a heck of a game against the Arizona Cardinals, posting 261 passing yards to go along with four touchdowns and no interceptions.

As long as he's not himself...is it too much to say, "Cam Newton who?"

In wake of Newton's foot injury, expectations were pretty low for the Panthers, and it was expected that stud running back Christian McCaffrey would have to carry the load against the Cardinals in a battle of two 0-2 teams.

Well, while McCaffrey himself had a fantastic game, rushing for 153 yards and a touchdown, it was Allen who stole the show and led the Panthers to their first win of the 2019 season.

Good for Allen, who, in his second-ever career start, hit Greg Olson for two touchdowns, as well as Curtis Samuel and D.J. Moore for one each. With this performance, Allen stepped out of Newton's looming shadow and into his own shoes, and Panthers fans should be ecstatic with his performance.

This is the former Texas A&M and Houston product's second season with the Panthers, as he started the last game of the 2018 season against the Saints. However, this game had a different tone to it, as Allen looked extremely composed and professional, which is all the Panthers could ask for in their quarterback.

Now, he seems firmly entrenched as the starter until Newton returns. Even then, if Cam continues to perform as indecisively as he did during the first two games of the season, Ron Rivera will have a big dilemma on his hands.
