Jameis Winston had a historically bad year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, throwing 33 touchdowns along with a whopping 30 interceptions.

Winston was plagued by turnovers in his contract year, and with free agency impending, Winston needs any reason for the Bucs to gain some newfound trust in his abilities. Well, it looks like he's determined to maintain his starting role in Tampa, and in order to do so, the 26 year old underwent LASIK surgery during the offseason.

What sounds like a punchline could actually work in Winston's favor. He may be able to convince the Buccaneers front office that his accuracy issues will improve now that he can see properly. Despite his problems with accuracy in the past, Winston has still managed to put up big numbers under center.

Those associated with the team may be wondering why it took Winston this long to address his vision if it has been an issue, but that is something only he can answer.

Tampa Bay has invested five years in Winston and may be hesitant to start over at quarterback. This LASIK surgery could buy him more time and the Bucs may want to give him one more shot now that he can actually see 20 yards downfield.
