With another week of college football action in the books, multiple stars out there continue to record brilliant early auditions for a trip this winter to New York City.

Though still months away, it's never too early to think about who may end up being in the running for the Heisman Trophy. Following more head-turning performances from over the weekend, here's what our rankings currently look like:

6. QB Justin Fields, Ohio State

The Buckeyes DESTROYED Miami of Ohio 76-5 over the weekend, and as you might expect, Justin Fields was at the center of everything. The former Georgia signal-caller threw for 223 yards and four touchdowns, but if that wasn't enough, he added 36 yards and two more scores on the ground. Yup, Fields has been as good as advertised.

5. QB Justin Herbert, Oregon

The Oregon Ducks have won three straight games following their Week 1 loss, and Justin Herbert has looked brilliant in the process. On the year, the future first-round pick has thrown for 1,127 yards and 14 touchdowns. This past weekend, he looked dominant against Stanford, tossing for 259 yards and three more scores.

4. RB Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin

The pride of Salem, New Jersey, Jonathan Taylor tore up the Michigan defense this past weekend. Jim Harbaugh had a great view of No. 23's talent, as Taylor rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns against the Wolverines. When the man is in open space, good luck trying to bring him down. He continues to be one of the most electric players in all of college football.

3. QB Joe Burrow, LSU

In what's already been a phenomenal year for SEC quarterbacks, Joe Burrow has been not only one of the top gunslingers in the conference, but also in the country. His latest showing against Vanderbilt for example was a thing of beauty. No. 9 finished the day with nearly 400 yards passing and six touchdowns. I don't care who you're playing, those kinds of numbers will keep you in the Heisman conversation no matter what.

2. QB Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama

Speaking of SEC QBs, we naturally have to discuss the one and only Tua Tagovailoa. With Bama at 4-0 without breaking a sweat, the lefty continues to be a superstar. This past Saturday, he tossed for 293 yards and five touchdowns against Southern Miss. On the year, he has 17 TDs through the air and zero interceptions. Goodness.

1. QB Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma

The Sooners may have had a bye over the weekend, but that doesn't mean Jalen Hurts' stock is going to be affected. In his first year with Oklahoma, the Alabama transfer has been downright sensational, tossing for 880 yards and nine touchdowns. On the ground, he's added 373 yards and four more scores.
