Rumors had been flying about Dion Waiters' apparent seizure on the Miami Heat team plane, and how the incident had been linked to an "overdose" on weed gummies.

Well, now some details have come to light.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports that Waiters had a panic attack after consuming THC-infused edibles, which resulted in the guard requiring medical attention.

While Windhorst's report doesn't confirm whether Waiters had a seizure or not, it does corroborate with the claims that the 27-year-old had taken an edible, causing his medical emergency.

Windhorst reports that Waiters took the edibles in order to gain relief from a stomach ache.

Waiters is fine now, but certainly caused quite the stir for the team due to his panic attack.

The guard had already been suspended by the Heat for conduct detrimental to the team, and has yet to make an appearance in the 2019-20 NBA season. He was listed as "out" for Friday's matchup against the Lakers due to an illness.

Waiters could stand to face more punishment from the team and the league considering use of THC is against league policy.
