Freddie Kitchens Calls Out Odell Beckham Jr. After Wideout Doesn't Show up to OTAs on Wednesday

Freddie Kitchens is setting a tone in Cleveland. He is not going to lie down, kiss Odell Beckham's feet, and let him do whatever he wants like the Giants did.

The Browns head coach publicly called out Beckham after he didn't show up at Wednesday's OTAs.

"It’s important for him to be mentally ready to be here," Kitchens said. "I’m not giving him an out … It’s better for him to be here when he can present his best self. Emotionally and physically.”

OBJ hasn't been totally absent from OTAs, as he finally reconnected with former LSU teammate and one of his best friends in the league in fellow Browns receiver Jarvis Landry on Tuesday.

Part of what doomed the Odell-Giants relationship was the inability of Tom Coughlin, Ben McAdoo, and Pat Shurmur to reign him in. Kitchens trying to create a lunchpail mentality in Cleveland as a first-year head coach is ultimately going to make Beckham and the Browns as a whole better in the long run.
