The Women's World Cup kicks off on Friday, with the first match up featuring a Group A clash between France and South Korea. The match marks the beginning of the 2019 World Cup, which is being held in Paris.

One of their top players, Lyon standout Eugénie Le Sommer, scored six goals in eight matches during the UEFA World Cup Tournament, and 13 goals in 18 matches during the Division One Feminine season. France will look to start off their tournament strong against South Korea.

South Korea Starting XI:

Goalkeeper Ga-Ae Kang is in net for South Korea, with the defensive-four of Dam-Yeong Shin, Yeong-A Jeong, Do-Yeon Kim and Sel-Gi Jang protecting the box.

Defensive midfielders So-Hyun Cho and Min-Ji Yeo will offer assistance on both sides of the field, while the trio of attacking midfielders in Chae-Rim Kang, Geum-Min Lee and Mi-Ra Moon play a more offensive role. Korea also deploys a lone striker in So-Yun Ji.

South Korea's career goals leader is Ji, with 54 career goals, but their most important player may be their captain Cho, who plays in England for West Ham. After France knocked Korea out of the tournament last year, the team will look to extract revenge on Friday.
