Marion Barber retired from the NFL after the 2011 season, his seventh as a pro running back. His name hasn't come up a whole heck of a lot since then, but the former Cowboys and Bears ball-carrier is now back in the news for less-than-ideal reasons.

Barber is currently in custody in Denton County, Texas for what has been described as misdemeanor criminal mischief. As TMZ notes based on police records, the source of the arrest, at least in part, is an incident that took place in the summer of 2018.

Barber was a standout in college with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, recording back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons before going in the fourth round to the Cowboys in the 2005 NFL Draft. In his third season, he was selected to his one and only Pro Bowl.

Law enforcement records indicate that Barber is facing two misdemeanor charges, but it's not currently known just what Barber is accused of.
