The San Antonio Spurs completely lost their cool after another poor performance from NBA referees, with head coach Gregg Popovich getting ejected from the game in the third quarter in what turned out to be a 121-116 loss at home to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan did not hold back when asked what he thought of the officials performance, as he thinks the refs were the main reason San Antonio slumped to 5-8 on the season.

DeRozan can expect a nice hefty fine in the coming days.

The ejection of Popovich after the coach rightly took exception to a couple of 50-50 calls that looked more like guesswork than anything else did at least serve as the catalyst for a groundbreaking moment in sports history, as assistant head coach Becky Hammon became the first woman in American professional sports to coach an all-male team in a regular season game.

DeRozan and Popovich might have lost their cool last night, but at least we got to see some groundbreaking history made on the back of Hammon's performance as interim coach. A small silver lining for Spurs fans.
