David Price Stepping up While Billionaire Owners Look the Other Way is Flat-Out Embarrassing

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander David Price showed why he is regarded as one of the most genuine and caring people in the league, as he confirmed he will pay $1,000 out of his own pocket to minor league players in the Dodgers system that are missing out on paychecks.
While Price deserved every bit of praise he is getting for this sudden burst of altruism, he shouldn't have had to do this.

The Dodgers are owned by a small group of individuals with a net worth that amounts to $2.5 billion. They could pay the salaries of every minor leaguer in baseball several times over and it wouldn't make much of a dent in their bank accounts. Essentially, Price is bailing them out because they don't want to give away a pitiful amount of their treasure trove.
The miserly way MLB owners conduct themselves has been on full display during the pandemic, as it has become blatantly obvious more of them care about the bottom line than the success of the team.

These owners could pay these minor leagues 10 times what Price did and it wouldn't even be a blip on the radar. Instead, the responsibility falls onto the players, who shouldn't have to undertake such a burden.
