Twitter in the year 2020 is truly a contrarian wonderland. You could say that 2 + 2 = 4, and people will still try to attack you for thinking that, while calling you misinformed about "secret math".

Houston Astros infielder Alex Bregman found that out when he had the temerity to suggest that the Ku Klux Klan, a group founded on hate and racism, should be classed as a terrorist organization in this country. When one idiot fan warned that Bregman could lose 75 percent of his fan base (he won't) by tweeting such a thing, Bregman said he's happy to see them go if they side with the Klan.

In case you're wondering, the guy who tweeted at Bregman has a bio that reads, "Not scared to tell it how it is!" He only has three followers, so "telling it like it is" isn't going so well for him.

In the last two days, Bregman and Chicago White Sox ace Lucas Giolito tweeted out "revolutionary" opinions like "the KKK is bad" and "I support Black Lives Matter." Because Twitter has become a brutal place of discourse this year, both of them were attacked by fans trying to intimidate them. Imagine that.

Even hating a despicable organization like the KKK prompts a "well, actually" from anonymous users on Twitter about the semantics of terrorist organizations. 2020 just continues to get worse on all fronts.
