Things can't get worse for the Alabama Crimson Tide after losing Tua Tagovailoa to injury right?

Well, today's latest news won't exactly make the local fans feel better. Tide freshman cornerback Scooby Carter has decided to enter the transfer portal and leave the University of Alabama.

Carter, a 4-star recruit out of Mansfield, Texas, has played in three games so far for Alabama and has registered one tackle.

Scooby is the second player from Nick Saban's 2019 recruiting class to announce a transfer, joining former 5-star defensive lineman Antonio Alfano in leaving Tuscaloosa.

While the transfers of these two talented players won't make much of an impact on the team's viability this season, the long-term effect of two top prep talents transferring out of town is real. It puts more pressure on the recruiting staff to beef up the ranks in 2020 and beyond at position groups they thought they'd already addressed.
