Adrian Peterson's Prognosis for Redskins 2020 Season is Actually Psychotic

Assuming that quarterback Dwayne Haskins improves upon a pedestrian rookie campaign, it's not outlandish to say that the Washington Redskins could ruffle some feathers in 2020. Their defensive line was already one of the best in the NFL, and drafting Ohio State stud pass rusher Chase Young at No. 2 overall will only make their front seven more menacing.

Still, most analysts and fans would be shocked if Washington didn't finish below .500 for the fourth consecutive season.

However, running back Adrian Peterson isn't buying into those lowly projections. The 35-year-old vet actually believes that the Redskins "have the tools to run the table."

Run the table as in complete the second perfect season in NFL history? We wholly respect Peterson, but these comments are alarmingly disrespectful to what Don Shula and the Miami Dolphins achieved in 1972. There's a fine line between confidence and insanity, and the former MVP is levels past the latter with this prediction.

It's almost as if Peterson wasn't a part of the same Redskins team that finished 3-13 last season. Washington's only three wins came against the likes of the Dolphins, Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions, who combined to form a 15-34 record in 2019.

We love a good player prediction, but Peterson's prognosis for Washington really isn't even worth acknowledging. It's just that irrational.
