The Toronto Raptors looked to have Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals won, until Jimmy Butler of the Philadelphia 76ers hit a clutch shot to tie the game (off a missed free throw) with 4.2 seconds remaining. While that's such a small amount of time for many, it was more than enough for Kawhi Leonard. The stoic superstar worked his magic, and once the clock was about to hit zero, he put up a Hail Mary shot with Joel Embiid in his face. The ball hit the rim repeatedly before finally going through the net, and the Raptors are advancing to the Conference Finals!
KAWHI FOR THE WIN— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) May 13, 2019
Toronto is on cloud nine, while Philadelphia was left in stunned shock as their NBA Finals aspirations turned to dust.
Cody Parkey was remembered for the double doink for all the wrong reasons. Kawhi Leonard's doink will be remembered as one of the greatest shots in NBA Playoff history.
The cathartic release of the city of Toronto should sustain you through the night. That's an absolutely iconic NBA moment that won't soon be forgotten.
