Are the Michigan Wolverines about to finally have a top quarterback?
Jim Harbaugh must be jumping for joy, because the No. 2 QB in 2021 class, J.J. McCarthy, has committed to Michigan and made it official on his Twitter account.

The 5-star signal-caller is pledging to head to Ann Arbor, but Wolverines fans will have to wait a couple years for his arrival. The gunslinger from Nazareth Academy in Illinois also received offers from Northwestern, Wisconsin, Arizona State and Cincinnati; no wonder he chose the Wolverines.
Two of #Michigan's top targets in AJ Henning (2020) and JJ McCarthy (2021) are on campus right now. How significant is that and what are they both thinking? Here's some insight...https://t.co/rrKSq1P6aG pic.twitter.com/zZZB0AzxCZ— Brandon Brown (@BSB_Wolverine) May 11, 2019
247Sports' scouting report of the youngster says he has "fantastic arm talent" and "can make every throw on the field," which, it's safe to say, hasn't been a theme at Michigan for quite some time. However, the report does add that he needs to add bulk to his frame because his pure strength is an issue. He's 6-foot-2 but weighs just 180 pounds right now.
Still, Michigan fans should be ecstatic for what the future holds. At the moment, they have one of the top QBs in the 2021 class in their column.
