It was a special moment for the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday, as Patrick Maroon scored the game-winning and series-winning goal for the team in double overtime to defeat the Dallas Stars in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The moment was especially meaningful for his son, who was caught on camera showing his unconditional love.

Maroon was born in raised in St. Louis, giving extra meaning to his game-winner. Maroon's beloved Blues now advance to the conference finals for the first time since 2001, when Maroon was just 13 years old.

Playing for three teams over the course of his nine years in the NHL before coming back home to St. Louis, Maroon would always have to leave his family and son behind each September to report to preseason camp.

But, when the Blues offered him a one-year, $1.75 million contract before this season, he knew he had to take it. That deal has led to more time at home with his family, and ultimately, playoff moments like these.
