Well, if the strategy is to be bold, the Khabib Nurmagomedov is on the right path in the course of his tenure as UFC lightweight champion.

Khabib's agent, Ali Abdelaziz, says he's prepared to defend his championship three times in the next *checks notes* 11 months?!

The fearsome fighter also plans to continue his training routine despite a month-long period of fasting during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which began Sunday.

Nurmagomedov's certainly not lacking for confidence. According to his agent, "He wants to fight on Sept. 7th and again in December." He also seems keen on fighting again sometime in April 2020.

Khabib rose to further notoriety for his defeat of Conor McGregor at UFC 229, as well as the subsequent fight that ultimately landed him the nine-month suspension he's currently serving. McGregor announced his retirement from the sport in March earlier this year only to appear to jump back into the fire a week later.

Abdelaziz was asked about the possibility of a rematch between the two foes, but he scoffed at the idea.

"He's not a worthy enough opponent right now. That's the feeling from all of us, as a team," the agent said.

Undefeated in 27 fights, whoever draws the short straw will have quite the challenge ahead of them in their attempt to take the lightweight title back from the 30-year-old brawler.
