Carmelo Anthony didn't find too much playoff success during his run with the Knicks, but he'll always be a fan favorite in New York. The Knicks should always treat Anthony well for what he did for the franchise, but 'Melo might be asking for favors that are little overboard.

With much speculation Kevin Durant will sign with the Knicks this summer, Anthony was asked if he would return to the team in said scenario. His response was a lot more hopeful than it should be.

The Knicks will need to fill out their roster with some veterans if they do land Durant, but Anthony is not their guy. Melo has thoroughly deteriorated as a player. He couldn't earn a spot on a thin Rockets roster and didn't draw any interest from the rest of the league when he was released.

The Knicks have been poorly run and unpredictable, but even they shouldn't be crazy enough to offer Anthony a significant role.

Anthony hasn't shown any willingness to change his playing style or mindset. He's going to face a harsh reality this summer when he realizes he is closer to retirement than to signing with a contending team.
