The NFL Draft isn't over until we say it's over!
In the final round of Nashville's showcase, the New Orleans Saints made two timely selections, the first of which was Notre Dame Fighting Irish TE Alize Mack. The 6-4 target didn't make much of an impact in South Bend until this season, when he recorded 360 yards and three touchdowns while catching passes for a very competent QB in Ian Book. In the NFL, he'll only receive an upgrade from there, hopefully becoming a prime target for Drew Brees in the near future.
Saints Nation I’m so emotional right now...I promise you, you’re going to get everything I got! I’m so thankful for this opportunity!— Alizé Mack (@AlizeMack97) April 27, 2019
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! #Saints
Mack is ready to go, and given New Orleans current TE situation, he could slot in as the No. 2 at the position.
Later in the seventh round, the Saints rounded out their Draft with Idaho OLB Kaden Elliss. This 6-2, 238 pound backer recorded just 17 tackles in limited time at Idaho last season, but clearly New Orleans sees something in him.
Interestingly enough, Elliss also has played TE in his college career. New Orleans likely prefers him on defense, however.
