The New Orleans Saints continue to patch up their secondary by adding a heat-seeking missile out of North Jersey that could be a tremendous addition to their defensive backs group.

With the 177th overall pick in the 2019 NFL DraftNew Orleans selected Rutgers safety Saquan Hampton.

While the selection of a Rutgers defensive back might draw some groans, but Hampton is a legit stud. A four-year starter and three time captain, Hampton explodes downhill and will make some huge hits as a run defender.

In the Michigan game, he showed that he could handle pro level receivers in zone coverage.

After a bit of a downturn last season, the Saints are hellbent on restoring their secondary to the very top of the league. With Hampton and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson joining the likes of Marshon Lattimore and Vonn Bell, good luck throwing downfield against the Saints in the Superdome. Another shrewd pick by Sean Payton.
