The reports all those months ago turned out to be true, as the Arizona Cardinals selected quarterback Kyler Murray with the first overall pick, despite trading up for Josh Rosen last year.

As a result, history was made, as this is the second year in a row that a Oklahoma quarterback was selected with the first overall pick. Last year, the Cleveland Browns selected Baker Mayfield.

Speaking of Mayfield, he sent out a congratulatory tweet to Murray just after he was drafted by Arizona, while also adding he'll see him in December.

This is something that has never been done by any football program. What makes the feat more unattainable is that both Mayfield and Murray won the Heisman Trophy.

Arizona is hoping that Murray can make a similar impact that Mayfield did with his first year with the Browns. Murray has that opportunity under head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who runs the air-raid offense, just like he did in Oklahoma under Lincoln Riley.

History has been made on draft night, now it remains to be seen if Murray can live up to the hype.
