5 Players We'd Absolutely Love to See on the Madden '20 Cover

The next face Madden is set to be revealed Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. ET. While the Madden curse has fans nervous about their star player landing on the front of the game, being the cover is a honor that most players enjoy. Curse aside, here are five players who truly deserve to be the cover of Madden '20.

5. Saquon Barkley

There had been a lot of talk about Saquon Barkley before the draft. His speed, strength, versatility, and mobility were unmatched. He didn't disappoint. In a mismanaged Giants offense, Barkley still found success as he finished second in the league in rushing with 1307 yards. Barkley is one of the most electrifying rookies we've ever seen and is a real dark horse for the Madden cover.

4. Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski was not one of the best players in the league last year and had been on the cover as recently as 2016. However, naming Gronk the cover athlete would be a nice homage to one of the greatest tight ends of all time. As a bonus, he's retired now, so hopefully you can't curse him anymore.

3. Khalil Mack

As a Bears fan, it feels dangerous to even write this, but Khalil Mack's storyline last year was one of the hottest topics in the NFL. After being traded from the Raiders, Mack turned the Bears defense into the best in the league on his way to another First-Team All-Pro nod. While he wasn't the best defensive player in the league last year, he was the most talked about.

2. Aaron Donald

Donald was the real Defensive Player of the Year last season. He notched 20.5 sacks with 25 tackles for loss. He led the Rams defense all the way to the Super Bowl. Donald put together one of the best defensive seasons of all time last year and deserves to sport blue and gold on the next Madden cover.

1. Patrick Mahomes

Mahomes is the clear favorite of the race. Although the rest have the qualifications, Mahomes was the No. 1 storyline of last season. The 23-year-old quarterback took the league by storm in his second season. He dazzled with off-hand throws on his way to a MVP award. He led the electrifying Chiefs offense and became must-watch football. There'll be no surprise to see Mahomes on the cover of Madden 20.
