The St. Louis Cardinals are taking it to the New York Mets right now, but they now could be dealing with an injury issue concerning one of their best players.
Slugger Matt Carpenter left Saturday afternoon's game after fouling a ball off his leg. He was diagnosed with a left knee contusion.

Carpenter had already started the year off poorly from an offensive standpoint, and this injury is likely to hold him back even more. Luckily for the Redbirds, however, Marcell Ozuna is on an absolute tear, and while he hasn't registered a hit yet today, he's drawn a trio of walks and scored three times.
As for Carpenter, he's slashing just .216/.306/.432 with three home runs and five RBI on the year, so the Cards are waiting for his bat to wake up and the power numbers to show.
