With Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins' names being thrown around as the consensus top two quarterbacks in this coming NFL draft class, a rumor has surfaced that one team believes Daniel Jones may be better than both of them.
There is a team with Daniel Jones as their No. 1 QB on their board. And y’all know exactly who that team is.— Charles Robinson (@CharlesRobinson) April 19, 2019
This tweet, as it was designed to do, has people jumping to conclusions on social media about who that mystery team is.
But let's be honest, we are all thinking the same thing: it has to be the New York Giants, a team that should desperately be looking for Eli Manning's replacement, but seems to be doing everything in their power to make sure that does not happen, doing swift examinations of all the wrong places.
Some of the replies have been comical, including this one showing the Little Giants in a huddle looking for answers from up above.
Other replies seem to play on the inconsistent and sometimes ridiculous decisions the front office has made by suggesting the Giants may think Daniel Jones is someone else.
Giants heard during March Madness that Duke’s best player is a generational talent...— David Schawel (@DavidSchawel) April 19, 2019
What if Zion Williamson isn't the only generational talent coming out of Duke and the Giants are actually onto something? That question is a tough one for fans to hear, especially if Haskins or Murray are still available when the Giants are up to pick at sixth overall. If the Giants do wind up selecting Jones, there surely will be Porzingis-like boos raining down from the NFL draft crowd.
