That's not how baseball works, Brandon! It's going to be a long season for the Toronto Blue Jays, which finally acknowledged their rebuild head-on. Unfortunately, it was years in the making and they're working from behind, so we can't blame this team for trying to cut some corners. Drury went a step too far, attempting to walk to first base on ball three.
Nope! Can't do that!
Mistakes do happen, and in all our jokes we often like to pretend we're flawless. However, considering Drury is on the game's biggest stage and has an umpire to remind him of the count, we can't just let this slide.
If you're watching the Leafs game, this is what you just missed: On a 2-2 count, Brandon Drury took a ball. Thought he walked, took off his gear started walking to first. Teoscar was on first, got confused. Walked to second. Tagged out. So, there's that. #BlueJays— Gregor Chisholm (@gregorMLB) April 16, 2019
What's better? Teoscar Hernandez believed Drury and walked to second base. When he found out Drury had jumped the gun, it was too late, and Hernandez was picked off of first.
We can't handle this level of tootblan.
