When penalties go uncalled, retaliation usually follows. Jake DeBrusk made a dirty knee-to-knee hit on Nazem Kadri on Saturday night, and the 28-year-old took it upon himself to respond by crosschecking DeBrusk in the face.

Kadri could very well be facing a game misconduct for this one, as it's unacceptable behavior for a player the Maple Leafs rely on. Should DeBrusk's penalty have been called in the first place? Absolutely, this very well could've all been avoided. Still, it doesn't excuse Kadri's behavior, which is uncalled for at any level, especially in a playoff game.
