Extension season never dies!

The Atlanta Braves have already locked up Ronald Acuña Jr. to a massive eight-year, $100 million extension, and now they are doing the same with his best friend, Ozzie Albies.

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Braves are in agreement on an extension with Albies.

Braves fans have killed this organization for not making many moves in the offseason, but this appears to be why. They are using their payroll to lock up their young core first, which features Acuña and Albies now for the foreseeable future.

Albies has more experience than his kid "brother" in arms, and in 226 career games over three seasons, the All-Star second baseman has slashed .272/.323/.456 with 93 extra-base hits (31 home runs), 102 RBI and 24 stolen bases.

Albies has an incredible first half last season which led to his first All-Star appearance. However, we saw the exact opposite in the second half, So far in 2019, he appears to have made some nice adjustments at the plate and looks like one of the best players at his position once more.

And now he's got the financial security he's earned.
