Blake Griffin was limited on Tuesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, as he sat on the bench the entire second half of the game due to his injured left knee.
Griffin has missed three games with this current injury, and despite needing a win to ensure their spot in the postseason, Detroit's All-Star is limited to the point of actually hurting his team, rather than helping.
Blake Griffin listed DOUBTFUL for tonight's regular-season finale. The only surprise there is he's not listed OUT already. Little chance what ailed him last night would fix itself before 8 p.m. tipoff at NYK.— Keith Langlois (@Keith_Langlois) April 10, 2019
The last time the Pistons rested Blake, they played the Cleveland Cavaliers, which ended up in a loss. Detroit is a completely different team when Griffin isn't out there, as there is a lot of pressure on Andre Drummond to lead the offense with dribble handoffs.
The Pistons sharpshooters are going have to lead the way for them tonight if they want to get a win and clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2016.
Should Griffin decide to go, even in limited time, it would provide a significant boost for Detroit as they go on the road and hope to spoil New York's final home game of the season.
