The Los Angeles Lakers made the biggest move of free agency by landing LeBron James, which led many to believe the team would finally return to the postseason.
However, the Lakers gave him a very questionable supporting cast, signing a handful of seemingly washed up veterans to complement LeBron and the young core.
LeBron has typically deferred to answering questions about the veteran signings, until recently, and his surprising reaction says it all.
LeBron calling it an "experiment" and then responding with a sound effect is just peak madness.
Nonetheless, it's a reaction that surely defines both how the experiment worked out as well as the Lakers season on the whole.
New story: The lost year of LeBron and the Lakers - an inside look at what went wrong in LeBron's first season in L.A. (many thanks to @andrewthehan & @cristinadaglas for their editorial touch on this one) https://t.co/WXT6HMkIPa— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) March 29, 2019
Year 1 of LeBron in LA was by all means a swing and a miss. If the Lakers want any chance of righting the ship for next season, they will need to focus on the development on their young players and filling the roster with shooters, especially those who can knock down threes consistently.
